Instructions
Blood by routine venipuncture in pink top (EDTA) tube (preferred) or blood in lavender top (EDTA) tube and blood in red top,no-additive clot tube.

Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Improperly labeled specimen; container damaged and leaking; insufficient quantity. Frozen specimens. Separator tubes.

Clinical Significance
The ABO system still remains the most significant system in terms of transfusion reaction if the wrong blood type is administered to a patient.
