Clinical Significance
Pancreatic Elastase-1 is intended for the quantitative determination of fecal pancreatic elastase in human stool specimens for adults and children. The test is an aid for diagnosis of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. The test helps determin if the pancreas is functioning properly by measuring the amount of elastase present in the stool.
