Blue Top (Sodium Citrate) tube


Minimum Volume
Fully collected Blue top tube


Instructions
Fully collect a Blue Top (sodium citrate) tube. Mix sample immediately by gentle inversion at least six times.


Transport Temperature

Send platelet poor plasma Frozen to -20C or less. 



To obtain platelet poor plasma: Centrifuge, separate plasma, re-centrifuge, and separate plasma into a transport tube.




Specimen Stability
Refrigerated: 4 hours
Frozen: >4 hours


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Underfilled tubes will not be accepted
