Instructions
For trisomy 13, 18, 21; and sex chromosomes. Performed at SQL Genetics/Genomics Division. For questions: Please call the lab at 602-685-5700.
For peripheral blood; 2-3 mL (1-2 mL for infants). Sodium heparin (green top) tube. Sodium heparin preferred, lithium heparin and EDTA accepted. Invert to mix. For Amniotic fluid; 2-5 mL in addition to the ~1ml /week of gestational age (for chromosome analysis). Collect in sterile tube. For Chorionic Villus Sample(CVS); 25 - 40 mg villi in sterile culture media (or saline) in sterile tube. For Products of Conception (POC); at least 4x4 mm tissue from fetus, at least 4x4 mm chorionic villi from placenta in sterile culture media (or saline) in sterile tube.
