Clinical Significance
RET-He measures the amount of hemoglobin in the reticulocytes and indicates cell hemoglobinization, reflecting the quality of the newly produced reticulocytes. RET-He is the earlier measure of diminished hemoglobin production compared to the hemoglobin and hematocrit.
