Requires brush & CytoLyt in tube.
Brush Cut into CytoLyt.
Requires brush and CytoLyt in tubeContainer must be properly labeled with patient name and MRN.


Instructions
Obtain CytoLyt tube from Laboratory - Cytology.
Send to Cytology laboratory immediately or refrigerate until transported.
NOTES: Esophageal Brush for Candida is a cytology study, not a microbiology test. For bronchial brushings, designate the lobe and side of lung.

Send to Cytology laboratory immediately or refrigerate until transported.

Clinical Significance
The microscopic exam of single cells mainly for cancer or precancerous lesions. However, the exam can also be used to diagnose some infectious organisms.
