1.0mL of spinal fluid


Instructions
CSF tubes come in a set of 4 tubes.  For lumbar or cistern puncture, tubes are numbered and must be collected in order.  For shunt or EVD collection, a sterile collection container is used.

Ambient 1 - 2 hours
Refrigerated up to 24 hours
Do NOT freeze


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)

Clinical Significance
The body fluid cell count and diff is a quantitative study of the leukocytes and erythrocytes found in various body fluids, to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases.
