Instructions
Body fluids should be aliquotted from sterile collection container into EDTA tube (purple top) for cell count and differential. If body fluid orders exist for multiple departments, specimen should be aliquotted into appropriate containers for each department.

Clinical Significance
The body fluid cell count and diff is a quantitative study of the leukocytes and erythrocytes found in various body fluids, to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases.
