1.9 Point of Care Testing General Information

Point of care testing is not performed in the Laboratory but in close proximity to the patient by pharmacists, providers or nursing staff. The tests cannot be ordered in CPRS because their ordering and resulting is facilitated by programming behind the scenes in Vista and the point of care middleware systems.
