Males: Urine
Females: Vaginal swabs

Instructions
1) URINE: Preferred specimen for MALES and alternate specimen for females.
Patients should not have urinated for at least 1 hr.
Collect 10 to 50 mL of first catch urine into sterile empty cup.
Transfer to COBAS PCR Media Tube between fill lines.
Keep refrigerated.
2) SWABS: Vaginal swabs are the preferred specimen for FEMALES.
A single patient or provider collected swab should be placed in COBAS PCR Media Tube. Keep refrigerated.
Patients should not have urinated for at least 1 hr.

2) SWABS: Vaginal swabs are the preferred specimen for FEMALES.
A single patient or provider collected swab should be placed in COBAS PCR Media Tube. Keep refrigerated.
For endocervical specimens only: use the flocked swab(brush) to collect sample. If necessary, woven swab can be used to removed excess mucous before collection and then discarded. For vaginal, anorectal, and oropharyngeal swab specimens: Use the woven swab to collect specimen and discard the flocked swab(brush). Do not place both swabs into the collection tube or the test will be rejected.
