5 mL whole blood or 3 mL bone marrow collected in a sodium heparin (green-top) tube

Instructions
Clinical history and reason for referral and prior transplant history are required with submitted specimen

Specimen Stability
Specimen viability decreases during transit. Send specimen to testing lab for viability determination. Do not freeze. Do not reject.

Clinical Significance
Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) test useful in determining the percentage of bone marrow or blood cells from donor and recipient in mismatched sex bone marrow transplant patients.
