Clinical Significance
This test is validated to detect the most common CYP2C19 alleles *1, *2, *3, and *17.  CYP2C19*1 is a presumptive finding when a variant is not detected.  The existence of rare variants cannot be ruled out.  Because CYP2C19 genotyping does not capture all the variability of drug response, results must be interpreted in the context of other results, co-administered drugs, and clinical findings.
