Methodology
The Alinity c Lactate Dehydrogenase assay is an automated clinical chemistry assay.
Lactate dehydrogenase is a hydrogen transfer enzyme that catalyzes the oxidation of L-lactate to pyruvate with the mediation of NAD+ as a hydrogen acceptor.1
Lactate dehydrogenase
L-Lactate + NAD+ Pyruvate + NADH
H+
Methodology: This method uses the IFCC recommended2, 3, 4 forward reaction - Lactate to Pyruvate
Patient results determined by assays using different manufacturers or methods may not be comparable.
