• Swabs will only be processed when indicated below. Swabs received for any other specimen type will be rejected. 


        The comment "Swabs are not acceptable for this specimen type for mycology culture testing.” will be entered as the rejection comment.

        Bactec Myco-F/lytic Bottle (Sent out).

Fluids, Bronchial, Urine, wound/abscess specimens – 0.5 mL’s
Tissue/Bone/Biopsy - no larger than a pea size peice
Blood: 1-5mL (optimum is 3-5mL) in bottle.
