Anaerobic transport media is available from the Microbiology lab at ext. 35954.
For wound/abscess cultures, a syringe with the needle is preferred. If a swab is used then after suspected site is swabbed using a swab culturette, place swabs directly into the swab container so that the swab portion is seated in the foam and the other end is connected to the red top. Do not break off the swab into the swab container.
