Preferred Specimen
Male and female urine, endocervical and vaginal swabs


Instructions
Endocervical and vaginal swabs must be collected using the cobas® swab sample kit and are stable a 2-30°C for up to 12 months. 
Male and female urines are collected using the cobas® PCR Urine Sample Kit and may be stored a 2-30°C for up to 12 months. 
Neat male/female urine can be transported at 2-30°C for up to 5 days.


Methodology
Automated sample extraction and simultaneous real-time PCR amplification and qualitative target detection.

FDA Status
This test is FDA approved for male and female urine, self-collected vaginal swabs (collected in a clinical setting), clinician-collected vaginal specimens, endocervical specimens, all collected in cobasĀ® PCR Media.
