MessageT&S required for this test. Duffy Null will be reflexed from T&S. - only one Blood Bank sample with collection form required for both tests.

Preferred Specimen
Whole Blood: 7 ml EDTA (pink top)
Specimens must be labeled with the patient’s full name, full social security number, month, day and year drawn, and signed by the phlebotomist and have a completed Blood Bank Specimen Collection Form submitted with the sample.

Instructions
1. Accept both the Type & Screen (T&S) and Duffy Null Neutropenia Phenotyping (Duffy Null A/B) orders in VISTA and generate accession labels for each test.
2. Identify the patient following the SOP for drawing a T&S for Blood Bank.
3. Draw one pink top (EDTA) and label the tube with the T&S accession label (sample and collection form must be signed)
4. Place both the T&S and Duffy Null accession label on the Blood Bank Specimen Collection Form.
5. Submit to the Blood Bank for testing.
