Test CodeMN
CPT Codes
83785<br><strong>This test code is for non-New York patient testing. For New York patient testing use test code 13721.</strong>
Preferred Specimen
2 mL serum collected in a no additive (royal blue-top) tube
Minimum Volume
0.7 mL
Other Acceptable Specimens
Plasma collected in: EDTA (royal blue-top) tube or sodium heparin (royal blue-top) tube
Instructions
Carefully clean skin before venipuncture. Avoid hemolysis. Avoid work-site collection.
For serum samples, blood may be drawn into royal blue-top evacuated tube without additive, allowed to clot and centrifuged within 4 hours of collection. Pour off plasma/serum into an acid-washed, metal-free tube for transport. Use powderless gloves. For plasma samples, follow the above instructions except that the sample does not go through the clotting process.

FDA Status
This test was developed and its analytical performance characteristics have been determined by Quest Diagnostics. It has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. This assay has been validated pursuant to the CLIA regulations and is used for clinical purposes.
Setup Schedule
Set up: Wed, Fri; Report available: 1-5 days
