Instructions

Clinical history and reason for referral are required with test order. Prior therapy and transplant history should be provided with test order. Culture Transport Medium is available upon request. Bone marrow (preferred): Submit 1-3 mL of bone marrow in Culture Transport Medium Whole blood (acceptable): 3-5 mL peripheral blood in a green-top tube Green-top, dark blue-top, or tan-top tubes are acceptable containers for this test. Ship at room temperature. Do not freeze. Lymph node (acceptable): 5x5mm in Culture Transport Medium; ship room temperature. Please note: If results are not possible, the test order may be canceled and replaced by code 416 - Cytogenetics Communication. Specimen viability decreases during transit. Send specimen to testing laboratory for viability determination.
