Preferred Specimen
Digene® specimen transport medium containing (1) Digene® DNA collection device/brush/cervical sampler, or (2) cervical broom. Cervical biopsy: 2-5 mm in cross section placed immediately into Digene® specimen transport medium and frozen at -20° C.


Minimum Volume
1 mL Digene® specimen transport medium • 6.1 mL Cytyc® ThinPrep® solution • 2 mL SurePath™ Cytorich fraction • 2 mm biopsy specimen


Instructions
Note: If this sample is being collected for reflex to genotyping do not submit in a Digene Cervical Sampler. The correct submission for reflex to genotyping is a SurePath or ThinPrep sample. Please note: Cervical swabs are not acceptable. Only cervical brushes provided with the kit are acceptable. Do not submit swabs in Digene HC Cervical Sampler transport media. Cervical swabs submitted in Digene HC Cervical Sampler transport media will be rejected.
