Instructions
Tube must be filled to the bottom of the attached label for accurate results.
If the patient has a history of platelet clumping, a full light blue 3.2% sodium citrate tube should also be drawn.

Clinical Significance
Causes of abnormal platelet counts include diseases of the bone marrow, long-term bleeding problems, gram-negative sepsis, some autoimmune disorders, and renal disease.
