Instructions
Draw 2-3 mL of whole blood into lavender-top tube. Ship and store refrigerated. Shipping at ambient temperature (<25 C) is acceptable.

Clinical Significance
Sirolimus is an immunosuppressant drug used to prevent organ graft rejection. Therapeutic drug monitoring is used to optimize dose and avoid toxicity. Peak concentrations are reached in 2 hours following oral administration. Elimination half-life in males is approximately 72 hours; in females approximately 61 hours.
