Clinical Significance
Bismuth can be found in the manufacturing of fusible alloys, electrical fuses, low-melting solders, silvering of mirrors and some dental techniques. Exposure to bismuth can lead to methemoglobinemia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramping and contact dermatitis.
