Preferred Specimen


1 or 2 brushes in sterile saline when shared with Microbiology.  When not for Microbiology specimen may be submitted in sterile saline or CytoLyt solution .  Remove the shealth and cover the brush with solution.




Instructions


Place the order in Meditech.   Provide required essential information that includes pertinent clinical history (blank, "none" or "N/A" are not acceptable).    A manual Pathology Specimen request form can be used when you do not have access to a computer and/or during downtime.  Specimens collected after hours must be refrigerated until processing.
