Instructions
The tube must be half full.  Specimen must be tested within 4 hours of collection.  MUST CALL COURIER @ 381-2506 for STAT PICK UP of sample (testing completed at a Main Campus Hospital).

Clinical Significance
A BNP value less than or equal to 100 pg/ml is considered negative and makes a diagnosis of congestive heart failure unlikely.  A BNP value greater than 100 pg/ml is considered positive and indicates the likelihood of congestive heart failure.
