Instructions
Avoid Hemolysis. Specimen must be drawn between 1600 and 2000.


Transport Container
Serum Separator preferred. Heparin plasma and EDTA plasma are acceptable.

Refrigerated

Room Temperature: 8 hours
Refrigerated: 5 days
Frozen: 4 weeks


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)

Inpatient turnaround times: stat 3 hours, routine 4 hours.   Outpatient specimens received by noon will be reported by 4:30 p.m.  Specimens received after noon will be reported by the next morning.
