10-15 mL amniotic fluid, unspun, in two 15mL centrifuge tubes (Corning, Falcon, or equivalent).




Minimum Volume
Minimum acceptable volume is 5 mLs:


Instructions
Discard the first 3 mLs drawn, do not centrifuge. Label all tubes with patient name and date of birth. Store and transport at room temperature.  if additional tests such as prenatal interphase FISH is ordered, 15-20mL is required.
