Preferred Specimen
(3) 4.5 mL Sodium Citrate tubes (blue tops) and (2) 4.0 mL EDTA (lavender top)
Minimum Volume
(2) 4.5 mL Sodium Citrate tubes (blue tops) and (2) 3.0 mL EDTA (lavender top)
Instructions
Collect full sodium citrate tubes (blue top). Send to lab immediately. If the specimen needs to be transported, centrifuge the sodium citrate (blue top), aliquot the specimen into a separate container, spin again, aliquot the specimen into 3 containers and freeze. Send EDTA (lavendar top) unspun.

Specimen must be centrifuged within one hour of collection.

Setup Schedule
Lupus testing is performed Tuesday and Friday. Cardiolipin and Beta 2 Glycoprotein Antitbodies and referred to Quest Diagnostics.
