Cervix, cul-de-sac fluid, endocervix, penis, placenta, urethra, or vagina

 

Specimen source is required.

 

Submit only 1 of the following specimens:

 

Specimen Type: Fluid

Container/Tube: Screw-capped, sterile container

Specimen Volume: Entire collection

Collection Instructions: Label container with patient’s name (first and last), date and actual time of collection, and type of specimen.

 

Specimen Type: Genital swab

Container/Tube: Sterile swab in sterile culture transport tube

Specimen Volume: Swab

Collection Instructions: 

1. Return swab to transport tube to ensure specimen preservation.

2. Label tube with patient’s name (first and last), date and actual time of collection, and type of specimen.

 

Specimen Type: Tissue

Container/Tube: Screw-capped, sterile container

Specimen Volume: Entire collection

Collection Instructions: Label container with patient’s name (first and last), date and actual time of collection, and type of specimen.
