Acceptable Specimens: Amniotic, pericardial, peritoneal, pleural, spinal, synovial, vitreous, or undefined fluid
Container/Tube: Screw-capped, sterile container
Specimen Volume: 1 mL
Collection Instructions:
1. Avoid contamination with normal flora from skin, rectum, vaginal tract, or other body surfaces.
2. Label container with patient’s name (first and last), date and actual time of collection, and type of specimen.
3. Swab is not acceptable.
