ANA Specialty Profile

Message
The ANA Specialty Profile begins with an ANA (Anti-Nuclear Antibody) Screen. If the ANA screen is positive, then the ANA Titer & Pattern will be performed at an additional charge (CPT: 86039).
Additionally, five antibodies will be performed at an additional charge, test codes: 5962, DNA(ds) Antibody (CPT code: 86225); 132812, Sm/RNP (CPT code: 86235); 19887, RNP (CPT code: 86235); 132822, Sm (CPT code: 86235); and 137032, Chromatin Antibody (CPT code: 86235).
If any of those five antibodies are positive, the cascade stops and the results are reported. If all five of those antibodies are negative, four additional antibodies will be performed at an additional charge, test codes: 38568 Sjogren's Antibody (SS-A) (CPT code: 86235); 38569 Sjogren's Antibody (SS-B) (CPT code: 86235); 4942 Scleroderma Anitbody (Scl-70) (CPT code: 86235); and 23932, Jo-1 Antibody (CPT code: 86235).
If any of those four antibodies are positive, the cascade stops and the results are reported. If all four of those antibodies are negative, the following two additional antibodies will be performed at an additional charge, test codes: 35432, Ribosomal P Ab (CPT code: 83520) and 16088, Centromere B Ab (CPT code: 86038).
Please note the cascade stops upon the first positive antibody result(s) found in a group and an intepretive message is applied based on this information. It is possible that antibodies in subsequent groups are also positive, but will not be added, billed, or reported. Please contact your local Quest Diagnostics Laboratory if you are interested in adding this additional testing.
