Container/Tube: Green-top (heparin) tube(s)
Specimen Volume: 3 mL (minimum volume: 0.5 mL) of plasma
Collection Instructions: Draw specimen 1 hour after dose of glucose drink.
Note: 1. Physician may dose patient in his/her office and send patient to be drawn at 1 hour. 2. If laboratory is to dose patient, dose is 50 g glucose. 3. Patient does not need to be fasting. 4. Indicate plasma. 5. Label specimen appropriately (plasma).
Serum
Container/Tube: Serum gel tube(s)
