EDTA whole blood and plain whole blood are required 

Pink-top (EDTA) tube and a plain, red-top tube
Serum gel tube is not acceptable


Minimum Volume
Full tubes of whole blood


Instructions
Label specimen with patient’s full name, hospital and Blood Bank identification numbers, date and time of draw, and user name of phlebotomist

Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Serum gel tube is not acceptable

Reference Range
For an antibody capable of causing Hemolytic Disease of the Newborn at titer >=32, or a rising titer is said to be indications to perform amniocentesis


Clinical Significance
Useful for following the course of antibody formation in cases of potential maternal fetal blood incompatibility
