Transport Temperature
Modified Thayer Martin Agar @ 35°C in CO2 indefinitely; Modified Thayer Martin Agar @ room temperature in CO2 up to 24 hours; non-nutritive bacterial transport medium refrigerated up to 12 hours; aspirates and fluids refrigerated up to 2 hours.

Recovery of Neisseria gonorrhoeae from the genitourinary track may support clinical evidence of infection.
