Do not use swabs other than those in collection kit. Do
not place 2 swabs in transporter. Specimens other than
conjunctiva are unacceptable.

C. trachomatis infections are the leading cause of sexually transmitted diseases in the United States. C. trachomatis is known to cause cervicitis, pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), infant conjunctivitis, infant pneumonia, urethritis, epididymitis, and proctitis.
