Preferred Specimen
Collect into a sterile wide-mouth plastic container.
Note date and time of collection. The specimen should be delivered to the lab as soon as possible following collection.


Patient Preparation
The American Urological Association recommends a waiting period of 8 to 16 weeks post vasectomy as the appropriate period for the first post vasectomy semen analysis. Specimen should be collected by masturbation. Patient should have not ejaculated for 2-7 days prior to submission of specimen or as doctor has directed. Contact your local laboratory in advance.
