Clinical Significance

The hepatitis profile can be used to aid in the diagnosis and differentiation of Hepatitis A, B and C. These forms of viral hepatitis cause an immune response and results in the detection of antibodies or antigens that can be detected in blood.

This panel does not include Hepatitis B surface Antibody, which can be used to detect immunity to Hepatitis B. Order HBSAB separately for the Hepatitis B surface Antibody.
