Instructions

Outreach clients should double-spin the blue top plasma, remove the plasma from the RBC button, and freeze in a polypropylene tube.

Reference Range

The UFH therapeutic range is 0.30 – 0.70 IU/mL

The LMWH therapeutic range is 0.60 – 1.00 IU/mL



Clinical Significance

Unfractionated heparin (UFH) and low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) are used for the prevention and treatment of thromboembolic diseases.  The quantitative determination of plasma levels is useful tool for monitoring treatment efficacy.
