Urine pH of less than 7.0 inhibits the ability of Wright's Stain to detect Urinary Eosinophils

Clinical Significance
Nasal smear exam may be helpful in differentiating allergic state and infection. Sputum with high percent of Eosinophils may be seen in asthmatic bronchitis. Eosinophils are seen in urine under a wide variety of clinical conditions affecting the urinary tract.
