  1. Centrifuge serum
    specimens within 1 hour of collection.

  2. Transfer serum to
    clean, plastic, screw-capped vial(s).

  3. Refrigerate samples
    and transport on refrigerant coolant, or, freeze samples and
    transport on dry ice to the laboratory.

Information:



  1. 1 mL CSF can also be
    submitted for Cryptococcal Antigen, Latex Screen with Reflex to
    Titer portion of testing, but a serum sample is also required for
    Cryptococcus Antibody testing.
