Instructions
  1. Collect full tube.  Fill volume is critical for proper anticoagualnt ratio.
  2. If collecting samples in microtainer tubes, indicate if sample is venous or capillary (finger stick or heel stick).


Specimen Stability

Room temperature: 24 hours
Refrigerated: 48 hours
Frozen: Unacceptable




Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)

Clotted, fibrin strands, platelet clumps, grossly hemolyzed, samples drawn above an IV site.

RF/DC (Radio Frequency/Direct Current) Detection/Hydrodynamic Focusing (DC Detection), Flow Cytometry (Using a Semiconductor Laser)/Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) Hemoglobin
