- If collecting samples in microtainer tubes, indicate if sample is venous or capillary (finger stick or heel stick).
Specimen Stability
Room temperature: 24 hours
Refrigerated: 48 hours
Frozen: Unacceptable
Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Clotted, fibrin strands, platelet clumps, grossly hemolyzed, samples drawn above an IV site.
