Instructions
  1. Collect urine for 24 hours.
  2. Refrigerated specimen with 4 hours of complettion of 24-hour collection
  3. Total volume, start and completion date are required

Processing 24-hour urine specimens

  1. Measure the total volume of the specimen.
  2. Mix the specimen well.
  3. Order 24URN in Soft and enter prompted information.
  4. Aliquot/transfer at least 3 mL specimen into plastic clear top (no additive) vacutainer tube.

Do not send the 24 hour collection kit/jug to the lab


Specimen Stability

Room temperature: 7 days
Refrigerated: 7 days
Frozen: 1 month




Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)

Unlabeled, mislabeled, wrong tube type, large amount of free hemoglobin, and/or bilirubin,, QNS, exceeds specimen/stability requirements.
