Methodology
Sirolimus is an immunosuppressive drug for renal transplant immunosuppressive therapy. Because of potential toxic effects associated with high trough levels of sirolimus, therapeutic drug monitoring of sirolimus immunosuppressive therapy has been recommended. Sirolimus is a macrocyclic lactone fermentation product of Streptomyces hygroscopicus, first discovered in the soil of Rapa Nui.
